The largest ever Japan event held in Canada
Japan Festival Mississauga 2016 will be held in Mississauga city on July 10th, 2016.
The concept of this extravaganza event is to introduce and enjoy Japanese food and culture with the people and community. The event will be held at the award winning venue, “Celebration Square”, in Mississauga city.
There are popular Japanese Restaurant’s food booths, Japanese beverages booths, Traditional Japanese Music, Entertainment, Performance, PR booths for sponsor Corporation and Companies and many more to enjoy. As one of the highlights of the event, “Bon Odori” (traditional Japanese square dance) is scheduled for wrapping up the event inviting all participants, sponsors, visitors, performers to join and celebrate the day.

And together, let’s promote the friendship of Japan and Canada to become even more closer through this special event “Japan Festival Mississauga 2016”!

Introducing True Japan and its food and culture
Japan Festival Mississauga is the largest Japanese event ever held in Mississauga city, Ontario province, Canada. The concept of this event is to introduce and penetrate “Wa” (true Japan).
“Washoku” (traditional Japanese food ), one of the UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage has become popular and trendy food for many nationalities because of its favorable taste, high quality, safety standard. Through this extravaganza event, Japan Festival Mississauga is eager to deliver the true meaning of Japanese food and Culture for people and community to experience, share and enjoy.
The event is outlined very similar to traditional summer festival, “Matsuri”, for visitors to enjoy the traditional Japanese culture.
There are popular Japanese Restaurant’s food booths, Japanese beverage (beer and Sake) booths, Traditional entertainment, performance and music, as well as the PR booths Japanese Corporations and Companies, and many more throughout the event. There are designated area for families to play and learn Japanese games and cultures. With the support of restaurants and bars, retailers and many others from the neighboring city, Toronto, the event is anticipating to become one of the kind Japanese festival ever!

35th Sister city anniversary commemorative ceremony between Mississauga city and Kariya city (Aichi, Japan).
This event includes the ceremony of 35th Sister city anniversary ceremony to celebrate the long time establishment and the history of both cities, Mississauga city and Kariya city.
Since the July 7th, 1981 the sister city establishment between Mississauga city and Kariya city has reached remarkable 35th anniversary in 2016.
Since the historical day, the relationship between the both cities has grown and deepened. There is a park honorably named after Kariya city, called “Kariya Park” in Mississauga city and July 7th is designated as the Kariya Day, in reciprocal there is a park named after Mississauga city called “Mississauga Park” in Kariya city and celebrating July 1st as Canada Day. In the past and as ongoing projects there have been many memorial and anniversary occasions to be celebrated.
Upon arranging the 35th Sister city Anniversary Ceremony, Japan Festival Mississauga committee has received the official support from both Mississauga city and Kariya city.
Together with Mississauga city and Kariya city, Japan Festival Mississauga Committee is proud to fully support the amity and sister city relationship between Mississauga city and Kariya city to further establish.

First time ever Japan Summer Festival in Mississauga city.

Tasteful Japanese food.
In order to introduce and experience tasteful and healthy Japanese food for the visitors the booths will be provided by the popular Japanese Restaurants in Toronto. As an addition, there will be Traditional Japanese beverages such as “Sake”, “beer” and “Japanese spirits” to introduce.

Experience and enjoy Japanese Music, Culture and Entertainment.

Japanese food and culture will be successfully transmitted through event booths, stage and screen performance and subculture performance during the event.

Family oriented experience.
As Japan Festival Mississauga is committed to respect and support families and friends, many of family oriented plans such as games and booths aiming families and friends will be facilitated. Such as making “Obento” (Japanese Lunch box), making “Onigiri” (Rice balls) or demonstration of Japanese Budo (Japanese fence, Kendo, Karate, Aikido and etc.), Tea ceremony, Flower arrangement and many more will be some of the attractions.

Learning about Japanese Branding
While food and culture are exciting part of this event there also is a friendly opportunity of learning about proud Japanese branding. In this event, there are many Japanese Corporations and Companies proudly presenting and exhibiting their products in high quality, high safety standard and skilled technologies for visitors to participate in hands-on learning.

Venue

The heart of downtown Mississauga, the favorite gathering spot for Mississauga citizens!
Japan Festival Mississauga 2016 will be held at “Celebration Square”, the award winning venue located in the heart of downtown Mississauga.
The Celebration Square has been holding many prestigious events among Greater Toronto Area and it is one of the best venue to be nominated. July 1st, Canada Day event is one of the large annual event held at Celebration Square with spectacular fireworks. Next to the venue, there is a largest shopping mall in Ontario, “Square one” is conveniently located and also the community library with state of the art facility is located being enjoyed and appreciated by the Mississaugans. Japan Festival Mississauga 2016 will be proudly held at this beautiful venue, “Celebration Square” , as one day event on July 10th.
